 These women are friends and they give to each other and help each other when times are difficult. The house is dark but the natural light outside the window and the flowers of the same bright sunlight bring bhappiness. The painting on the wall is a landscape that is pleasant but does not bring in the natural light. It is just a picture. It is what is real and natural elements that give pleasure and optimism.

RED SHOES

AN HONEST MAN

The story behind this painting is the bouquet of honesty flowers (real flower). They are white and so is the man's scarf - he is an honest man. The bouquet is slightly shaped into an arrow. He is giving the flowers to his lover and they are an arrow - like cupid's - to her heart. He is an old fashioned man, possibly from the 30's or 40's. It is this old fashioned love that keeps them togeher.
